It can be hard navigating life in a different culture.
WaNavi Japan’s Life-skills workshops will empower you to have a solid understanding of the basics, essential to life in Japan.

WaNavi Japan has been providing Earthquake Preparedness workshops for international residents since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster in 2011, and continues to support people affected by natural disasters.

Come to all 4 workshops or several workshops of your choice!

1.Preparing for Earthquake Disasters in Japan

Sep. 9, 2017 (Sat) 14:00-16:30

2.Demystifying the Japanese Healthcare System

Oct. 5, 2017 (Thu) 9:30-12:00

3.Understanding Japanese Ingredients and Food Labeling

Oct. 26, 2017 (Thu) 9:30-12:30

1.Info Session – Learn about the food culture in Japan and understand how to read food labeling. Use ingredients unique to Japan!
2.Critical Language Lesson – Learn how to choose and order food according to dietary/religious/cultural restrictions
3.Hands-on Activity – Taste different types of miso and learn how to make miso soup directly from Miso Brewery Master, Mr. Yoshinori Noda!

In Collaboration with:
We are working with 4th generation Miso Brewery Master, Mr. Yoshinari Noda, from the Masuzuka Miso Brewery. 

4.Understanding Japanese Etiquette

Feb. 24, 2018 (Sat) 14:00-16:30

1.Info Session – Learn about the history and basics of Japanese Etiquette from the Master of Ogasawara School of Etiquette, Archery and Mounted Archery
2.Critical Language Lesson – Learn polite and respectful expressions in Japanese useful for smooth communication in different situations
3.Hands-on Activity – Learn how to sit, stand, walk, bow, and eat Japanese cuisine the Ogasawara-way

In Collaboration with:
We are working with the Ogasawara School of Etiquette, Archery and Mounted Archery, which has a history of over 850 years teaching Japanese Etiquette. 

This is a family-friendly event! Please come with your entire family!

講座概要

Place:  Libra (Minato-ku Gender Equality Center)
 Minato Park Shibaura  1-16-1 Shibaura Minato-ku, Tokyo

Fee: 1,000 yen for each workshop

Maximum Number of Participants: 30  (Registrations on a first-come, first-serve basis)

Childcare: Childcare services available for all workshops from ages 4 months to pre-elementary school children
